OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME 

The broad objective of the programme is to provide a course of instruction targeted at developing the knowledge and understanding of students to acquire skills in marketing theories, practices and research methods for use in teaching and research as well as adeptly take up marketing roles in various industries in Nigeria and globally. 

The specific objectives of the programme are to: 

  • Develop in the students a thorough knowledge and applied competence in the fundamentals of marketing and consumer studies. 
  • Develop students with a comprehensive understanding of marketing as both a discipline and a profession. 
  • Equipping students to become educators and researchers in marketing as well as prepare them for careers as marketing practitioners and professionals.
  • Take the Postgraduate students through relatively advanced marketing knowledge and scientific research approaches needed to understand and expand the frontiers of marketing theory and practice. 
  • The Postgraduate program is designed to train and develop prospective academics, researchers and specialists in marketing and consumer studies by providing thorough grounding in the intellectual traditions of the discipline.
